1. Convention Registration Desk - Opening Hours

The Convention Secretariat and Registration Desk will be open in the foyer of the convention area (ground floor of the Fairmont Monte Carlo Hotel).

Opening hours:

Sunday, 1 June 2008 from 14.00 to 18.00

Monday, 2 June 2008 from 08.30 to 18.00

Tuesday, 3 June 2008 from 08.30 to 18.00

Wednesday, 4 June 2008 from 08.30 to 16.30

Upon arrival at the registration desk, each registered delegate will receive his/her personal credentials (badge, invitations, tickets), as well as the final programme of the Convention and the list of all registered participants.

2. Access to the Convention and Exhibition area

Access to meetings, exhibition and hospitality areas, networking sessions, luncheons and social events is restricted to registered delegates and guests who are wearing their badge. Badges will be thoroughly checked at the entrance of the Convention and exhibition area.

Lost badges and tickets will not be replaced.

3. List of participants

Each registered delegate will receive the official participants list mentioning delegates’ full names, company names and addresses, the hotel where they are staying and the division codes which will allow the delegates to identify their potential customers. This list will only include delegates whose registration forms were received by COLLOQUIUM before 16 May 2008.

An additional list mentioning late registrants will be available at the convention registration desk.

As from 3 March 2008, a regularly updated list of participants will be made available to delegates of the BIR Gold Member companies on the “Members Only” page of the BIR website www.bir.org (click on ‘MONTE CARLO Convention’).

4. Hospitality area and bars

On Sunday 1 June, before the opening of the exhibition area, a coffee bar will be open from 14.00 to 18.00 near the registration desk. On the following days, complimentary soft drinks, coffee and tea will be served in the exhibition area from 08.30 to 18.00 (16.00 on Wednesday 4 June). A cash bar will also be available from 11.00 to lunchtime and from 15.00 to 18.00.

5. BIR Gold Member Club

Delegates representing BIR Gold Member companies benefit from special discount registration fees. They have early access to the list of participants and have the privilege of using the exclusive Gold Member Lounge with complimentary coffee/tea, secretariat facilities and access to Internet and e-mails, etc...

6. Simultaneous interpretation

Simultaneous interpretation in English, French and German will be provided at all plenary sessions. In addition, participants speaking Italian and Spanish will have the opportunity to express themselves in their own language during the debates.

If you are invited to make a speech or to present a report at one of the plenary meetings, please send a copy of your presentation to the BIR Secretariat in Brussels before 23 May 2008.

7. LME and COMEX

These quotations will be provided during convention opening hours to BIR delegates dealing with non-ferrous metals.

8. NEW SERVICE: Business Suites

BIR will be renting additional meeting rooms which delegates can book for up to 2 hours for their business appointments.

Prices and availability can be checked at the convention registration desk.

9. Press

A press room with e-mail, fax and telephone will be accessible to registered journalists. A press table offers the possibility to display trade publications close to the main meeting room.
