Monte Carlo is a dream destination … and each time that BIR comes back to this crown jewel of the Côte d’Azur, the Convention is bound to be a full success!
Most delegates are familiar with the prestigious Fairmont Monte Carlo Hotel (formerly Loews Hotel and Grand Hotel) that has already hosted three BIR conventions in the past because it offers the perfect backdrop for a high-profile event. Architecturally unique, the Fairmont Monte Carlo Hotel reflects the elegance and sophistication that Monaco is renowned for. In its dramatic setting right on the coast, the hotel is only a few steps away from the glittering Casino and offers spectacular views of the sea, the yacht-filled harbour and the terraced hillsides surrounding the Principality of Monaco.
Rooms are luxuriously redecorated and have all the amenities of a four-star hotel. Three restaurants, one of which is a “brasserie”, and two bars offer an eclectic variety of food and drink. There are various shops in the hotel, and the main shopping streets are within walking distance. On the roof top, a solarium and a swimming pool provide hotel guests with a exceptional moment of leisure.
BIR has pre-booked 350 rooms at preferential rates for Convention participants. If you want to take advantage of these special rates, you must return your registration and hotel reservation form (please note the strict pre-payment conditions on page …) to the conference organiser COLLOQUIUM or register on-line by 25 March 2008.
ACCESS
By plane: The closest airport is Nice Côte d’Azur airport, which has a strategic position in the middle of the Riviera.
From the airport, you can either take the taxi (85€ - 30/40 minutes) or the helicopter (8 minutes), for which BIR has negotiated special conditions: one way 90€ instead of 109€. For reservations please contact the heliport (Fabien@heliairmonaco.com).
By train: all trains stop at Monaco/Monte Carlo station: the TGV from and to Paris, day trains to Milan, Geneva and Basel, night trains to Milan, Venice, Pisa and Rome.
