SERVICES AT THE CONVENTION

1.Registration Desk and Convention Secretariat

The Welcome and Registration Desk will be located on the 2nd floor of the Marriott Hotel.

2. Access to the Convention

Access to meetings, hospitality areas, trading sessions, luncheons and social events is strictly limited to delegates and guests duly registered at the Convention and wearing their badge. Badges will be thoroughly checked at the entrance of the Convention area.

Lost badges and tickets will not be replaced.

3. List of participants – Advertisements

On arrival, each registered delegate will receive from the Convention Secretariat the official participants list mentioning delegates’ full names, company names and addresses, the hotel where they are staying and the division codes which will allow the delegates to identify their potential customers. This list will only include delegates whose registration forms have been received by MAZURKAS TRAVEL before 4 October 2007.

An additional list mentioning the late registrants will be available at the registration desk.

The provisional list of participants will also be available to the delegates of the BIR Gold member firms on the “Members Only” page of the BIR website www.bir.org .

Reservation of advertising space in our list of participants :

All companies are entitled to place an advertisement in the list of participants. Pease fill in the advertising form which is enclosed in this programme and return it along with your payment to the BIR secretariat in Brussels before 26 September 2007.



4. Hospitality & Bar

Complimentary coffee and tea will be served in the hospitality area as from 14.00 to 18.00 on Sunday 21 October and from 08.30 to 18.00 during other days of the Convention.

5. BIR Gold Member Club privileges

Delegates representing companies which are affiliated to the BIR Gold Member Club enjoy special discount registration fees. They will also have the privilege of using the Gold Member lounge which BIR has reserved exclusively for their use (with complimentary coffee/tea and soft drinks, secretariat facilities and access to Internet and e-mails).

6. Simultaneous interpretation

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided at all plenary sessions in English, French and German. Participants speaking Spanish and Italian will have the opportunity to express themselves in their own language during the debates, as passive interpretation will be available.

If you intend to make a speech or to present a report at one of the plenary meetings, please send 6 copies of your presentation to the BIR Secretariat in Brussels before 15 October 2007.

7. LME and COMEX quotations

These quotations will be provided at all times for BIR delegates dealing with non-ferrous metals.

8. Press

A press room will be accessible to registered journalists throughout the Convention and a press table will also enable them to display their specialised publications on recovery and recycling in the Convention area.

9. Exhibition Tables

Although there is no exhibition during our Autumn Round-Table Sessions, we will give any interested machinery and equipment manufacturers the opportunity to rent a table to promote their materials in the hospitality area.

The BIR secretariat will contact the exhibitors in due time.

10. Sponsorship

Following the very successful previous experiences, BIR offers all interested companies the opportunity to sponsor convention events and services. Among the sponsorship possibilities are the Welcome Reception, the rental of the main meeting room, the divisional luncheon, briefcases, lanyards, etc.
