Middle East

The Middle East is witnessing a major shift, with Saudi Arabia and the UAE leading the charge in clean energy transition and innovative urban development.

Saudi Arabia has resumed work on the Jeddah Tower, soon to be the world’s tallest skyscraper, and has launched ambitious projects like Neom and The Line - all aimed at sustainability, economic diversification and strengthening the non-ferrous metals market. As these mega-projects unfold, demand for non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, copper and zinc are expected to grow, driven by the need for materials in construction, renewable energy infrastructure and advanced technologies.

Both Saudi Arabia and the UAE have hosted key summits focusing on renewable energy, hydrogen technologies and carbon reduction, demonstrating their commitment to achieving net-zero targets. These efforts align with a broader regional focus on expanding local metal production capabilities, reducing dependence on imports and creating a more resilient supply chain. Furthermore, ongoing international efforts to resolve regional conflicts are fostering greater political stability, which in turn enhances market confidence, lowers logistical/insurance costs and supports long-term economic growth.

Collectively, these advancements position the Middle East as a leader in clean energy, cutting-edge materials and transformative urban projects, with the non-ferrous metals sector playing a pivotal role in the region’s future economic and industrial success.
