Demand for plastics scrap has improved significantly since the beginning of 2022. In comparative terms, the third quarter was rather slow. In general, however, October has brought better market conditions than in September.
Some items have been faring better than others: for instance, demand for PET and PVC has been slower than for PP and HDPE. Part of the reason for these developments has been the stronger US dollar, which has badly affected the Chinese and Indian markets. There is continuing good demand for PS and PC.
