Update from our BIR Ambassadors
BIR Ambassadors in various regions are doing excellent work disseminating BIR’s continuously updated information and following up on members’ renewal requests membership payments. We have been working very closely with the BIR Secretariat and the Membership Committee to solve some membership issues, and I am glad to say that some have been resolved and some have given promises to renew their subscription.
This year, as one team, our Ambassadors will be working to make BIR a great valuable organization. We adapted to the realities of COVID-19 and demonstrated resolve, commitment, and compassion. We will continue the good work we are doing with the help of our Ambassadors from various regions and further improve sustainability performance for ourselves and our customers. Our main objective is to help with membership retention and promote BIR for new members, who make our continuous growth.
Working with all BIR committees, hand in hand promoting planned Convention venues, communicating through social media, and representing BIR in various conferences in different regions has been a major priority by the Ambassadors. As an example, in 2021 – and solely for the Middle East region – I attended the following events with a view to promoting BIR:
• 9th Mena Billet and Steel conference, March 2021
• Middle East Energy online Conference, 8 June, 2021
• The Middle East and Iron Steel Conference, 6-8 December 2021
• 10th Asian Metallurgy Seminar (virtual conference), 16th December 2021
All BIR ambassadors are committed to closely working with our BIR President to truly fulfill the circular economy, resources preservation, CSR, etc.
Thank you all for your support to BIR, and I hope to see all of you making a difference in both our Global Recycling Federation and our industry, and looking forward to seeing you all in May in Barcelona and in October this year in Dubai for the 3rd time since 2009.
