Appointment of new Ambassadors Committee Chairman: Sudhir Aggarwal joins the leadership team of BIR

During the World Recycling Convention in Abu Dhabi, BIR President Susie Burrage OBE appointed Mr Sudhir Aggarwal Chairman of the BIR Ambassadors Committee. With over five decades of experience in the recycling industry, Mr Aggarwal leads Varun Metal Industries Pvt Ltd (India) as its Chairman. He is a third-generation leader, having joined the family business established by his grandfather in 1910.

He holds prominent positions in the industry, including President of long-standing BIR member association IICA (Inland Importers and Consumers Association, Delhi, India), and Ambassador of Bureau of the Middle East Recycling - BMR, since 2014. In 2015, Mr Aggarwal was appointed BIR Ambassador for India, in recognition of his committed support of the organization and its main principle of free and fair trade. As President of IICA, he plays a crucial role in liaising with government agencies, leveraging his negotiation skills and strategic management expertise.
