It is with great sadness that BIR informs its members of the passing of Fadi Shahrour, Chairman of the BIR Membership Committee and member of the Advisory Council.
Fadi was a longstanding member of BIR's leadership and a highly respected figure within our global community. A BIR Ambassador since 1995, he dedicated more than three decades of service to our association. Over the years, he held numerous positions within BIR. He served on the Non-Ferrous Metals Division Board, regularly contributing to the BIR World Mirrors. As Chairman of the Membership Committee, which he became in 2015, he was also a member of the Advisory Council and served on the Communications, Convention and Finance Committees. Through his commitment, insight and dedication, he played an important role in BIR's growth and success over the years.
His company, Sharmetal Trading, has been a valued BIR member in good standing since 1989. Fadi built strong relationships across our membership and was known to many throughout the recycling industry.
Fadi's sudden passing comes as a shock to all who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his contributions to BIR and the industry, but also for his warmth, generosity and friendship.
Our sincere condolences go to his family, friends, colleagues and everyone at Sharmetal Trading during this difficult time.
Fadi will be greatly missed by the entire BIR community.
