Presentation title: “The Middle Eastern Copper Market”

Deepesh Goyal is Chief Commercial Officer at Fujairah Gold FZC, based in the United Arab Emirates. Throughout his career, Deepesh has demonstrated his ability to forge strategic business relationships, negotiate effectively, and implement cost-saving strategies. His expertise spans various critical areas, including spend analysis, contract negotiation, logistics management, project delivery, and risk management. Deepesh's professional journey includes significant roles such as Head Commercial at Hindustan Zinc Limited and Associate Manager Commercial at Talwandi Sabo Power Limited. He has also served as an Engineer in various capacities, further enhancing his industry insights. Deepesh holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the University Engineering College, Kota. He has further strengthened his credentials by becoming a Certified Supply Chain Professional through APICS Northern Colorado. Fujairah Gold FZC is a prominent player in the precious metals industry, situated in Fujairah, UAE. Part of Vedanta Resources Plc, it operates a Continuous Cast Copper Rod Plant and a Precious Metal Refinery. They are known for their efficient operations and advanced refining technology.

Joseph PickardChief Economist & Director of Commodities, ISRI (USA)

Presentation title: “The Nonferrous Metals Recycling Industry: Short-Term Challenges and Longer-Term Outlook”

Joe Pickard serves as the chief economist and director of commodities at ISRI. Since 2010, Pickard has directed ISRI’s research and analysis on recycled commodity markets and the key economic role recycling plays in the U.S. and globally. Previously, Pickard served as the economist for the International Copper Study Group in Lisbon, Portugal. As a member of the Industry Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC) No. 5, he serves as an advisor to the U.S. Trade Representative and U.S. Commerce Department on trade issues related to nonferrous metals and critical minerals. Pickard holds an M.A. in economics from Virginia Tech and a B.A. from Loyola University Maryland.
