BIR Delegation attends ISRI 2023 Convention in Nashville
BIR President Tom Bird addressed the ISRI Board of Directors, thanking ISRI Chair Brian Henesey and ISRI President Robin Wiener for the brilliant organisation and for inviting BIR. He expressed his gratitude for the longstanding and ever growing cooperation.
Equally, a meeting of representatives of a number of national associations was co-chaired by ISRI and BIR to provide an opportunity for open exchange and international cooperation, particularly in terms of advocacy and trade.
During his opening address, ISRI's Chair Brian Henesey stated that the recycling industry always adapts to challenges and sees opportunities instead of stumbling blocks. He added that adaptation requires rethinking how the industry tells its story and building on its strengths. ISRI members are setting high standards and good practices that BIR is proud to share at an international level.
The convention also celebrated the 25th year of Robin Wiener's presidency of ISRI, recognizing her great support and contribution to the recycling industry in the US. Her invaluable contribution to the work of BIR and the recycling industry worldwide were also highlighted and lauded.
During the traditional international reception jointly organized by ISRI and BIR, many BIR members present at the Convention celebrated the close bonds between both organisations.
