“Reuse and recycling: at the beating heart of a circular textiles economy!"
Due to technical constraints and issues with speaker availability, the BIR Textiles Division had to postpone their initially planned Circular Textiles Leadership Talk and will instead be offering you a one-hour interactive programme on reuse and recycling.
Main speaker is Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Schlichter of the Institut für Textiltechnik – Recycling Atelier (DEU), and his presentation will focus on “Textile Recycling – Status and Perspectives on the way to a textile circular economy”.
Prof. Dr. Schlichter is an accomplished professional in mechanical engineering, specializing in textile technology. He obtained his degrees from RWTH Aachen University and began his career as a research assistant at the Institut für Textiltechnik. He later joined Trützschler GmbH & Co KG and worked at Oerlikon Neumag and Autefa Group in leadership positions. Prof. Schlichter has also been involved in academia, holding professorships at Augsburg University and Jiangnan University. He has actively contributed to industry and institute boards and has an impressive research and innovation record with numerous publications, patents, and international lectures. Currently, he is involved with makers labs recycling & AI.
In a subsequent panel discussion, the following participants will give their respective input with regards to the main topic of the session “Reuse and recycling: at the beating heart of a circular textiles economy!”
